WESTVILLE, NS - A Westville, Nova Scotia man will spend the next six months under house arrest for secretly recording people in the change room of a Pictou County tanning salon.

Russell Wile, 34-years- old, pleaded guilty to setting up an iPhone in one of the change rooms of the Coco Beach Tanning Salon in New Glasgow.

Fourteen people used the room before the device was found by staff and turned over to police.

Wile has been banned from the Internet and he's not allowed to possess any device that can record or download images or videos.

Coco Beach claimed the incident cost them more than $ 8,400 in lost revenue, but a claim for restitution was denied by the judge.
