A unique protest by two students attending the Universite de Moncton – a fake wedding.

They were protesting the way the New Brunswick government distributes student loans.

Remi Gaudet and Emilie Hache say that if the gesture had been real, the government would have been more attentive to their financial needs.

"We shouldn't have to get married to show the government we're independent. We're adults; we should have a chance to make our own loan."

A reception was held after the protest wedding where students met to eat Kraft Dinner.

The wedding caught Liberal leader Victor Boudreau's attention. He says it should not take a mock wedding to get the governments attention.

Boudreau says, "unfortunately students aren't at the table, we've called for students to be at the table but the Alward government is refusing to do that.
