A Nova Scotia man charged following a car crash that claimed the lives of two teenagers a week ago was denied bail Wednesday.

Thirty-year-old William Fogarty is charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death in a two-vehicle crash in Tracadie.

The Nov. 23 crash resulted in the deaths of Kory Mattie, 16, of Linwood and Nicholas Landry-McKenna, 17, of Monastery.

Family and friends of the deceased teenagers piled into Antigonish provincial court for Fogarty's bail hearing.

A ban prohibits the publication of evidence given at the hearing.

Fogarty's next court appearance is on Dec. 20.
