Authorities are looking for help in locating 20-year-old Melissa Peacock from Dartmouth, N.S.

The young woman was last seen entering a car on November 7 in Dartmouth.

According to her mother, Ruth Slauenwhite, the last communication she received was a text message saying she was heading to the country with a friend and didn't want to be there.

"That sends up a lot of red flags because she's saying she's sorry but first and foremost, it's ‘I don't wanna be here. I wanna be home," she says. "Makes me feel like she's being held against her will."

Police says there are no reasons to believe Peacock has met with foul play; however, they say they can't determine whether she is missing or if she left on her own accord.

Theresa Rath, communications officer for Halifax Regional Police says, "it's not unusual for Melissa to go off on her own, and be missing for a number of days, but the length of time that she's been missing this time is very out of character. She's also an avid social media user and she's not been updating Facebook, so certainly this is very concerning."

Peacock's parents say they won't make her come home and only want to know if she's ok.
