Nova Scotia RCMP have made an arrest in the suspicious death of a three-year-old boy more than seven months ago.

James Joseph Peter-Paul, 29, was charged with second degree murder at his Indian Book home Friday morning.

The charge is in connection to the death of three-year-old Matthew James Raymond Peter-Paul. On Oct. 1, 2010, Indian Brook RCMP received a 911 call that the three-year-old was in cardiac arrest. He died shortly after being sent to hospital.

Bridgit Leger, spokeswoman for the Nova Scotia RCMP, said the Mounties couldn't confirm the nature of the relationship between the two individuals. However, Leger confirmed that the deceased and charged were known to one another,

James Joseph Peter Paul will stay in custody until Monday, when he'll make an appearance in Shubenacadie Provincial Court to face a second degree murder charge.
